Notification Obligation of the Recipient of a Food Supplement at the Place of Destination

Pursuant to Section 3d, paragraph 3 of Act No. 110/1997 Coll., on Food and Tobacco Products, the recipient of a consignment of food supplements imported from EU countries or third countries into the Czech Republic is obliged to inform the competent supervisory authority - Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) of the arrival of the shipment at its destination, in accordance with Decree No. 172/2015 Coll., on the Information Obligation of the Recipient of Food at the Place of Destination.

Specifically, this obligation consists of notifying CAFIA of the arrival of the consignment via the CAFIA information system no later than 24 hours before the consignment arrives at the place of destination (i.e., the location where the food supplement consignment will be physically delivered — warehouse, shop etc.)
