EU Presidency

The Presidency of the Council of the European Union is a great opportunity for each EU Member State to increase its prestige and to present its priorities. The presidency's function is mainly to chair meetings of the Council of the European Union, determine its agendas and set a work programme. The Presidency rotates among the Member States of the EU every six months.

The Czech Republic held the Presidency in the EU Council from 1st January 2009 to 30th June 2009.
